The generic name for Temovate is Clobetasol Topical.
Temovate is a topical steroid which belongs to the medicine group, corticosteroid, and is classified as a high potency topical skin care medication. It is used on the skin to help relieve redness, itching, swelling, inflammation and discomfort that may be caused by a number of skin conditions such as: psoriasis, allergic reactions, inflammation and eczema.
Temovate works by inhibiting the actions of chemicals in the body that cause redness, itching and swelling of the skin that is caused by skin conditions. It can also be used to treat skin inflammations. It can be applied on most areas of the skin in small amounts, but you need to speak with your doctor before you use Temovate.
Temovate cream is available in a 0.05% 15 gram tube.
To use Temovate, apply a small amount of medicine to the affected area and gently rub in until it is evenly distributed and disappears. Wash your hands after applying, unless your hands are part of the treated area. Use once daily. If you miss a dose, apply it as soon as you remember and resume to your normal time for applying Temovate.
Side effects may occur while you are using Temovate. Side effects may include:

- Burning
- Redness
- Swelling
- Dry Skin
